Rev Brewer (the same guy who wrote the original Brewer's Dictionary of Fables) had an analytical mind, a great writing style, and a curious mind. Not to mention time on his hands. This is his compilation of the best ideas about the science of everyday things. Of course it is ludicrously incorrect in detail, but who cares? The delight is in Brewer's way of thinking and his collection of curious "facts" and ideas.There are delights here - go and taste them.
